I have the latter.
I only came across this concept recently and became invested in learning more about it as I was told that I have depression. According to your article, depression is a symptom of CPTSD and I have been seeking help since I was 18 from various counsellors, GPs and have looked into professionals with specific qualifications and training, such as a psychotherapist or psychiatrist.

I was wondering if you could answer my question relating to this: since CPTSD is brought on by oppression, can being exposed to a lot of racism, direct and indirect, be considered part of CPTSD?

Ever since my wife and I got into a car accident, she has been having a difficult time falling asleep at night due to anxiety, and I am worried that her mental health will prevent her from going to work soon. Now that I know that PTSD can be caused by a single event, I’ll find a professional that can help her.
