One usually begins a regime of meditation like the Fool Card in the Tarot
who is represented as a small child person who is just out wandering in the fields
and then while wandering, steps off the cliff into the great unknown and begins his
or her adventure

After we have been meditating for awhile, and there are no fast or hard rules on
time or sessions involved, we many times will stop in the middle of a meditation
session and say......"Whoa...That is Awesome..."

Some people stop then, they try to put a bookmark in the place or in the literature
they were reading and proclaim..." I now Understand " and never sit again.
This is the tricky part..The more you know, the more you realize what you don't know
but are willing to sit again to maybe catch another little bit of wisdom or WHoa....

It is very important to understand that you need to purchase " nothing " to meditate
and begin your journey. No books, no pretty cushions, no designer pants or tinkling
bells or 3 hour Long Hand Hollowed flute music playing in the background . You do not
need to purchase a mantra or secret word, or go on trips to mountains or spas to
get the benefits of meditation. There are plenty of free YouTubes on Meditation and
Google has many free links to info also

If you do want to Spa or go to the mountains, that sounds wonderful but is not
necessary to do to sit in meditation

Two sessions of approximately 20 minutes each day is a wonderful commitment to
yourself

We do not try to stop our thinking of the 3000 plus thoughts that float through our
minds most days. We sit and when thoughts come up as they most certainly will,
we let them float on by, not becoming attached to attacking or dispelling them
from our mind. Some beginners use counting, 1...2...3...4 before a thought breaks
the chain of counting. We acknowledge the thought whatever it is, let it go, and
count again. 1...2....3....4... Thought.....1....2....3......4......5...Thought....1...2....3....Thought...

What you glean from this exercise in your meditation can be its own WHoa moment
many times

Give yourself a break and don't try to do it all in a short time. A little bit every day
will keep you on track in a healthy manner.
