Lovely article, it reminded me of some basics I’ve forgotten as I work on myself and become understanding of the obvious neurological damage i suffered through long term childhood trauma and other significant later in life trauma’s. It brings tears to my eyes thinking about the damage being caused to human lives when this happens, because it’s not just the victim discussed here, it’s invariably a lifetime of spin off the reaches far and potentially perpetuated if not fully understood or at least as best reasonably possible. Any inflicted trauma should be a crime, trauma caused to defenceless dependants should be treated as any other life changing crime. Most of all this should never happen and it would be great educate people broadly on consequences.

The truth is, I’m not sure if total healing will ever be possible for many, realistic expectation setting will help give a greater chance of any long term progress, anything beyond is a bonus and should never include a measure of failure, the risks are too high.

We don’t just get to glean positives either.... like trying to dig a hole in soft sand... expect a lot more sand to fall in the hole than what you intend to take out

Thank you again for another great article
