It shutters a whole generation into invisibility. Especially with our 21st century mindset of taking control of your life as a functional and well adjusted adult, as if there is a magical milestone where everything should be corrected by your empowered adulthood.

Ignoring the development gap present in children of emotional abuse, caretaking was a minimum.
