I’m struggling very similarity right now and funny enough was looking at a “feelings” wheel this morning to help write out thoughts for my next therapy session. My early childhood memories are patchy, as well. It seems odd, that when I was very young (maybe 3-5), my fantasy was having a safe space of my own. This space was secure, and others could only enter with my specific invitation. Now, as an adult, I wonder what trauma brought on this fantasy. My marriage has massively compounded my CPTSD. Extremely low self-esteem led me into a relationship with a covert/vulnerable narcissist. Abandonment trauma kept me in it. Hopefully, I will find a therapist like your second one, soon.
