I relate so much to this. Thank you for sharing your experience with CPTSD. I only understood why I am the way I am when I got my CPTSD diagnosis.

I want first to thank you for sharing this post. I didn’t know what I was working with until recently, PTSD. It has hindered my grandson since he started Kindergarten, he is now in the fourth grade. When he was in second grade, he tried to harm himself. The environment in school is a trigger. The PTSD diagnosis is so new and he is so young, we have only just begun our journey as to how we “go to school” and live life.

I can identify with this post. Without intending to downplay anyone else’s experience, I think that one of the differences between PTSD and CPTSD may be, not the intensity of the reactions to triggers, but that, in CPTSD, life is a trigger in itself.
