I’m glad I was able to help you see something that you may not have been aware of before. However, I am not sure what you mean by the latter part of the comment..More to life than you realized? Its sort of implies you didn’t realize how capable disabled people are when it comes to navigating the world and actually can live productive active lives…sorry but that’s a little insensitive considering I am a disabled individual. The post was written to highlight how vulnerable those with disabilities can be when navigating life and how they are often subject to comments and things by people who aren’t that are harmful and damaging in the context of disability. Especially post-pandemic and with a rise in mental health being acknowledged as a disability it’s getting harder to create content such as this that makes a distinction. this certainly was never a piece that was written to gain sympathy or pity due to experiences I have had at the hands of abled people. I certainly don’t like, and many others with disabilities don’t either, being seen as an object of inspiration.
