If a provider is telling you that they cannot diagnose you with CPTSD because they can’t bill it to your insurance company because it isn’t in the DSM—THEY ARE LYING TO YOU. Full stop.

Obviously, a DSM revision would be much better. The APA issue sounds like a research war, especially considering the overlapping of some of the symptoms with a gross difference in the origin conditions. The new diagnosis would make perfect sense to anyone on the street.

Your only recourse is to file for SSI and see if you can qualify. I don’t know of any other benefits like social security disability income (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

This disqualifies me from collecting disability.
Are there any other government or other agencies that provide disability benefits to qualified people who did work, just not for an entity that paid into Social Security? Thanks.
