As I get older, I find that while I was young and very social, it could have been a way of running away from myself. Now, I realize that people make me so tired and yes I disappear. I do not have to pretend anymore but living with life long depression and mental health issues really takes it out of you. I understand I do not have to prove anything anymore and am allowed to enjoy my hermit lifestyle. I fill it with animals, books and music and lots of spiritual studying. Not everyone was created to be on top all the time and that's okay too. I am grateful that I have achieved so much in my life despite my health issues, just sorry it affected my loved ones. I have been blessed and would like to just live out the rest of my days in peace and quiet. Thank you for this wonderful insightful piece.
