Hello Rebekah
Thank you for sharing your awful experiences and much of what you wrote resonates with me. I was the scapegoat in my dysfunctional family so I always believed that I was a really bad person and when I grew up I was forever trying to make amends for what I had done to my parents. So my father financially abused me for four years - even getting me to buy a new car that I could not afford on Hire Purchase. Then I allowed him to financially abuse me for another three years. I am almost 81 and I just recently understood what happened.
