Brad, thank you for your comments. I am glad EMDR is working for you. It sounds like your therapist could be my therapist's twin with what she said to you. That is exactly what mine said to me. I think the reason EMDR did work for me is that I fundamentally trusted my brain to do what it needed to do in order to heal. Keep in touch and let me know how it goes.

Elizabeth, thank you so much for your comments. I am so glad that you found God in the midst of your trauma. I am so glad you listened to that voice and continued to live and persevere through the trial you were in. I am looking forward to hearing how that voice is leading you through the healing process as well.

Cyndi . . . I am so glad to read your experience with EMDR. I've been using it as well with my therapist, and I was skeptical as well, but the benefits have squashed the skeptic in me. Like my therapist said, "you have to trust to process and lead with an open mind". And boy, was she right. It certainly helps build the neuroplasticity which will grow the mind in to a more resilient and stronger organ.

I really enjoyed reading this post. It does sound incredible. I also found God in the depth of my own trauma despair, but at the time I had no idea "who" was speaking to me. The voice came from inside and somehow I knew I would survive. It gave me strength to carry on when I had lost all hope. I didn't feel alone after that. I can't describe it any other way.
