I was sexually abused from ages 5 to 12. I am 68 and for the majority of my life I never understood the reason for my struggles.

I wonder if it is too late to heal sometimes, then I read stories like yours and grow an inkling of hope.

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you April for your comment. It made my day : ) And thank yourself for being brave and making your own life better! You're a cycle breaker!! It's exactly why I speak on dysfunctional family. It's my passion to help others recognize and break this cycle. I did a video on tiktok specifically on how I started loving myself more, you can check it out here https://www.tiktok.com/@leeannwerner863/video/7295388456052591915?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7256543891981043243

I also wrote the books, and a blog at www.illusionofagirl.com if you would like to read those. Its a life long journey, keep traveling, big hugs to you my friend.

Hi Leanne thank you for your bravery in telling your story. I too was a victim of abuse from both my parents. My belief in God kept me from getting into drugs, alcohol addiction etc. I do struggle with self worth though. I’m sorry for what you went through.
