I would like to add another bullet point to your list of traumas – growing up gay in a world and family that did not support it. It’s really neglected and since you’ve included a Pride invitation I thought I’d mention it. Homophobia comes in many forms from overt to hidden and can be devastating to a young child/teen desperate to be ‘normal’.

I deal with all forms of complex trauma in my practice but being gay myself I often attract other survivors of this kind of emotional trauma.
