Thanks for this. Here in Australia, I’m about to enter a programme titled Left Write Hook, for child sexual assault survivors, that combines trauma informed writing and boxing for rage release! There is a documentary on Netflix here about it.

Elizabeth, I read this article yesterday and just had to come back here and comment today. Your list of strategies are incredibly insightful. - I, too, need to push my body to its limits in order to overcome triggers. And making music (especially singing) is sometimes my only way out of difficult episodes.
"Let the emotion wash over you like a waterfall" - I definitely need to work on that.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom on anger, it's such an unpleasant emotion and I wish there was more discussion about it in general, particularly for women.

Elizabeth, thank you. Your article empowers all of us who journey through C-PTSD.

Glad you have the physical and musical outlets. Love songs that empower and there are many.

Took me until 71 to be diagnosed. Oh, the anger: grieving my abused inner children, the sexual and domestic violence inflicted on me as a teen, young wife and middle aged woman. What could have been instead of what I accepted as norm.

Wish you continued success with your healing journey. Look forward to reading your books. Wish we C-PTSD sisters could meet, as we are siblings if a sort. All the best and ty again Elizabeth.
