Hi there! Thank you so very much for sharing your experiences with horses and how much they have helped you. That really warmed my heart!

Warm hello Morrene,

I really loved these 2 pieces you wrote and I can relate with you so much about horses saving my life too.

I also had a dream about this white horse during a very dark and scary time in my life and then she came to me in the city where I live ... there's a group of horses that are in the middle of the city here in Madison, WI that are here for healing from the excellent researchers at UW Madison ... and on a day when I did not want to live anymore.. I walk up to the fence of these beautiful horses and here she is ... this stunning white horse with gray speckles and I have since named her Valeria. I cried and cried and cried with her and told her that I could not suffer anymore .. it had been 45 years and I'd already done 2 trauma recovery treatments and I still had this massive stressor in my life and I just did not think I could take another step forward. And then there she is. She stayed with me for awhile and looked deeply into my eyes and said "our kind will help keep you here."

I knew from that day forward that horses needed to be a part of my life. I loved them when I was young but my Dad did not let me have one. And I found myself just pulling up along side them on the road and meditating with them from my car over the last decade. So back to present moment, I had to have them in my life so I started looking and visiting multiple barns and places that do horse therapy until I found the one in Milwaukee which is only an hour from my home. It is the Eagala method and it has changed me life. During my sessions I'm with a mental health professional and a horse professional and 3 horses but I'm most deeply connected with Lena who I call "Mama Lena."

A whole year has passed since I began and I go weekly. I cannot even imagine my life without Lena and the very special farm she lives at...
