They are cognitive statements and if simply telling ourselves these things could transform the beliefs and associated triggers/trauma responses then affirmations would have healed billions by now. I encourage practitioners to learn about memory reconsolidation and integrating the TRP and 3 steps of activate, mismatch, repeat- to their chosen experiential modality to really begin to help people experience transformation more consistently. (the paradigm shift you mentioned at the beginning of your article) Bruce Ecker book &quot;Unlocking the Emotional Brain&quot; is a perfect place to start.]]></description>
