In reply to <a href="https://cptsdfoundation.org/2025/05/14/the-heart-of-the-matter/#comment-46180">Matt</a>.

Thank you, Matt, for your uplifting words and support. It is very much appreciated. I struggled mightily to put that essay out there. Being open and expressive about one's inner truth and reality is not always easy, especially when one voices it to the world.

Hi Mandy, thank you for your wonderful comments. Frankly, I was moved emotionally while reading how strongly you could relate to interpersonal trauma. You seem to have a clear understanding of the effects of abuse and trauma. I also found your response to be very well written and much appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feelings with me.

Ever grateful,

This was a profound read. Thank you so very much for sharing your thoughts and experiences in such an explicit and emotional response evoking way. For all of the triggering and devastatingly tragic brutality, it was still one of the most beautifully constructed works of literary art in the English language I have ever had the privilege of reading. No doubt, my own ability to relate so exactingly to a vast majority of the delivered abuse and the feelings that resulted played a large part to how dramatically it affected me. I will likely return to this article many times in the future simply because I will surely have a feeling that will recall my sense of being so understood and described within it and I will need to be reminded of how captivatingly written, not just shockingly, but also awesomely, my (our) traumatic past can be. n
Thank you again for sharing your talents and experiences with the world. It is said we go through it because we are the ones destined strong enough to live through it and be able to help others who have gone through it see that life doesn't end there and it doesn't have to be terrifying or dark for the remainder of our lives. We have the fortitude to decide to be who we want to be, rather than what our trauma (or abusers) would have made us.
Sincerely,
-- Mandy
