Natalie, I’m really glad to hear your sleep has improved. That’s no small victory, especially after dealing with something as intense as sleep paralysis. It means a lot that the science resonated and didn’t just feel like clinical noise. Our nervous systems carry so much unspoken history into sleep, and honoring that can shift everything. Thank you for reading and sharing a piece of your story here.

And as for the signature—no worries at all. I can type 90 wpm, have played piano since age 4, and can dissect trauma responses in my sleep… but the moment Grammarly or autofill gets involved, my prehistoric brain makes a full appearance. You’re in good company, lol.

Hi Dr. Martin,

Thank you for another informative and supportive article! I liked learning more about the science of sleep. I struggled with sleep issues, particularly sleep paralysis, for many years. Thankfully, my sleep is amazing now! I look forward to your next article.

Best regards,
