Rules & Guidelines
For all CPTSD Foundation programs
These guidelines create a focused container for trauma-informed peer support during all CPTSD Foundation program calls, classes, and online groups. Our top priority is the safety and support of the group as a whole. By participating, you agree to abide by these standards to ensure a compassionate, respectful environment for everyone.
Foundational Expectations
- A “Safe-Enough” Space: While safety is subjective, we strive to maintain a focused container for trauma-informed peer support.
- Privacy & Confidentiality: What is shared in the group stays in the group. Please respect the privacy of every member at all times.
- Warmth & Respect: Show positive regard for yourself and others, honoring our diverse backgrounds and unique stages of growth.
- Support, Not “Fixing”: We are here to witness and support, not to offer unsolicited advice or try to “fix” one another.
Communication Standards
- Inclusive Language: You are welcome, but not required, to include your preferred pronouns in your Zoom display name and/or in your Circle community profile.
- Neutral Topics: Topics and Discussions surrounding politics are not permitted during program calls or classes, and will be removed if posted in any online groups.
- Spiritual Generalities: Use general terms for spirituality (e.g., “my higher power”) to remain inclusive of all belief systems.
- Active Participation: Your voice is welcome. You may use the “Raise Hand” feature to share or participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable on any program call or class. Participation in online groups for programs is also strictly voluntary.
- Program URLs (links): Sharing Zoom links, program resources, or content of any kind is strictly prohibited.
- Requests for Assistance: No requests for assistance of any kind are permitted during program calls or in our online groups. This includes, but is not limited to, requests for financial assistance, housing, food, transportation, or medical.
Self-Care & Safety
- Peer Support vs. Clinical Care: These calls are not a replacement for therapy, crisis care, or medical treatment. Members are encouraged to maintain professional support outside the group.
- Trigger Management: If you feel triggered, please step away and contact your therapist or a crisis resource immediately.
- Radical Self-Compassion: Showing up is an act of self-advocacy. We honor your choice to prioritize your healing and break cycles of self-abandonment.
-
Personal Information: We strongly advise members not to share personal contact information (such as phone numbers, addresses, or any other personally identifiable information) with others, whether inside or outside the program, during calls or in online groups.
-
Should you choose to share personal information or engage in contact with other members outside of program calls or online groups, you do so entirely at your own discretion. CPTSD Foundation is not responsible for interactions or outcomes resulting from private communications.
-
CPTSD Foundation is dedicated to maintaining a healing environment rooted in mutual respect, validation, and encouragement for all members and staff.
