Fundraising Team Leader

Build a Movement: Create Sustainable Support for Complex Trauma Survivors

This Isn’t Just Fundraising – It’s Building Lifelines

At CPTSD Foundation, we provide daily support between therapy appointments for complex trauma survivors worldwide. Right now, many survivors can’t afford the help they desperately need. You’ll help change that.
Fundraising helps sustain programs and fuels growth, outreach, and innovation, allowing us to reach even more survivors, expand healing offerings, and advocate for trauma-informed change. Every dollar raised becomes a doorway to safety, connection, and hope.

The Opportunity

We need a visionary builder – someone who sees an empty field and envisions a thriving garden. You’ll create our entire fundraising division from nothing, establishing diverse revenue streams that ensure no survivor is turned away due to finances.

What You’ll Build From Scratch

  • Our complete fundraising infrastructure and strategy
  • A coordinated team of volunteers passionate about our mission
  • Multiple revenue streams including:
    • Grant programs (research, writing, tracking)
    • Virtual and in-person fundraising events
    • Corporate partnerships and sponsorships
    • Monthly giving programs
    • Creative campaigns that honor survivors’ dignity
    • Community fundraising initiatives

Your First Year Might Include

  • Establishing our grant-seeking process and training volunteer writers
  • Launching our first virtual fundraising event
  • Creating sustainable monthly giving programs
  • Building relationships with funders who understand that healing happens in community
  • Developing trauma-informed fundraising approaches that never exploit survivors’ stories

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven fundraising experience with a track record of building successful programs
  • Natural leadership abilities – you’ll be recruiting, training, and inspiring volunteers
  • Understanding that complex trauma work requires delicacy and dignity
  • Self-starter mindset – you’ll have support but need to work independently
  • Deep alignment with our mission – this work should feel like purpose, not just a task
  • Comfort with remote work and digital collaboration tools

Why This Role Matters

Every dollar you raise means:

  • A survivor in crisis can access peer support at 2 AM
  • Someone who can’t afford therapy still gets daily encouragement
  • Our Daily Recovery Support remains available regardless of ability to pay if we can offer more scholarships
  • We can expand in line with our mission, vision and values
  • Complex trauma survivors know they’re not alone

You won’t just be raising funds – you’ll be ensuring that “seen, heard, validated, and understood” isn’t just our promise, but our guaranteed reality for every survivor who needs us.

What You Should Know

  • This is a volunteer position initially (though we hope fundraising success could change that)
  • You’ll work closely with our Executive Director and Operational Leadership
  • You’ll have creative freedom to build something meaningful
  • We practice what we preach: no invalidation, no judgment, no shame – even in how we work together

📚 Required Reading

We warmly invite you to take a moment to read our Mission, Vision & Values. Understanding the heart behind CPTSD Foundation helps ensure that every volunteer feels aligned, empowered, and connected to the deeper purpose of what we do.

We’re not just helping people – we’re ending cycles of complex relational trauma through deliberate, trauma-informed action.

Ready to Build Something That Changes Lives?

If you’re someone who sees the bigger picture – who understands that sustainable fundraising means more survivors get to heal – we need to talk. This is about creating a foundation (pun intended) that ensures no survivor faces their healing journey alone due to financial barriers.
