Volunteer Opportunities with CPTSD Foundation
The staff of volunteers and interns on our team are second to none; we are so grateful to have the opportunity to work with such incredible individuals. Their skills and dedication help make our organization the very best it can be for each and every survivor and practitioner we serve.

Peer Support Group Moderator
CPTSD Peer Support Chat Group
We are seeking empathetic, responsible Peer Support Group Moderators to help facilitate our online support groups for adult trauma survivors. Moderators play a key role in ensuring that our virtual spaces remain safe, respectful, and supportive, while upholding trauma-informed principles.
Key Responsibilities

Welcome and engage participants in a warm, inclusive, and nonjudgmental manner.

Monitor live chat or discussion threads for triggering content, conflict, or policy violations and respond appropriately.
-
Gently guide conversations to remain on topic, supportive, and trauma-informed.
-
Uphold and enforce community guidelines with empathy and consistency.
-
Collaborate with other moderators or staff to handle participant concerns, escalations, or mental health safety checks (e.g., if someone is in crisis).

Model healthy communication, active listening, and compassion in all interactions.
-
Attend periodic moderator check-ins, training sessions, or debriefs.
Qualifications
-
Lived experience as a survivor or strong understanding of trauma-informed care (personal or professional).

Experience participating in or facilitating online support spaces is helpful but not required.

Excellent listening, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to maintain boundaries and uphold confidentiality.

Emotionally grounded, reliable, and team-oriented.

Junior Copy Editor
Blog
We are seeking a Junior Copy Editor to help elevate CPTSD Foundation’s brand through compelling, emotive storytelling that aligns with our trauma-informed positioning.
Key Responsibilities:
-Copy Editing: New blogs submitted by guest content contributors
-Using WordPress to make copy corrections, check photography, keywords, and tag
-Communicate with the Chief Content Officer on written submissions
-Review new writer submissions
Qualifications:
-1-2 years of copywriting experience.
-Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
-A clear understanding of CPTSD Foundations Call for Writer, including blog guidelines.

Linked In
Content Creator
We are seeking a dedicated LinkedIn Social Media Consultant to help us build and manage our professional presence on LinkedIn. This volunteer will play a key role in expanding our reach, sharing trauma-informed content, and engaging thoughtfully with our network while upholding the values of sensitivity, confidentiality, and trust.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and manage a consistent, compassionate, and professional posting strategy aligned with our mission and values.
• Curate and post trauma-informed educational content, posts from our blog, resources, and nonprofit updates.
• Engage with followers, professionals, and partner organizations in a respectful and supportive manner.
• Help grow our professional network by identifying and connecting with aligned organizations, thought leaders, and advocates.
• Monitor messages and comments to ensure safe, respectful interactions.
• Use insights and analytics (e.g., post engagement, follower growth) to inform content decisions and report monthly.
• Ensure all content upholds trauma-informed principles: safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment.
Qualifications
• Experience managing social media accounts (LinkedIn preferred) for a nonprofit, business, or personal brand.
• Understanding of trauma-informed language and communication, or willingness to learn.
• Strong writing, editing, and content planning skills.
• Comfortable with basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) a plus.

Content Creator
We’re looking for a creative and thoughtful Pinterest Social Media Consultant to help us build a calm, inspiring, and informative presence on Pinterest. This volunteer role will focus on curating trauma-informed content, organizing it into helpful boards, and growing our visibility as a trusted source for healing and empowerment.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage a Pinterest content strategy that reflects our values and mission.

Create and organize Pinterest boards centered around trauma recovery, mental health, wellness, coping tools, survivor stories, inspirational quotes, and relevant resources.

Design engaging, aesthetically aligned pins using Canva or similar tools.

Curate and pin content from reputable, trauma-informed sources.
-
Monitor engagement (repins, follows, saves) and adapt content based on insights.
-
Ensure that all shared content promotes a sense of safety, empowerment, and compassion.

Collaborate with our team to align Pinterest content with broader communications and campaigns.
Qualifications

If you’re passionate about writing and inspiring others, we want to hear from you! Our blog focuses on all aspects of complex trauma recovery, as well as educating, inspiring, and raising awareness about the mental health struggles that survivors of trauma face on a daily basis.

Program Leader
Daily Recovery Support
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced, trauma-informed Online Support Group Leaders to facilitate weekly virtual support groups via Zoom and provide guidance within our secure online forums. These groups offer a blend of peer support, education, and community connection, grounded in empathy and trust.
This is a meaningful opportunity to create a supportive space for survivors to share, heal, and grow—both in live calls and through ongoing online discussion.
Key Responsibilities

Facilitate weekly, 45 minute Zoom support group sessions for adult survivors of trauma, following a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach.
-
Guide group conversations with a balance of structure and open sharing, ensuring emotional safety for all participants.
-
Encourage respectful dialogue, mutual support, and healthy boundaries.
-
Provide light psychoeducation, coping tools, and grounding techniques as appropriate.
-
Monitor and engage with participants in online chat forums between meetings to provide continuity of support.
-
Collaborate with co-leaders or moderators and communicate any concerns or escalations to program staff.
-
Attend initial and ongoing trauma-informed training provided by the organization.
Qualifications
-
Experience leading peer support groups or clinical therapy groups, preferably for trauma survivors.

Background in mental health, social work, peer counseling, or a related field strongly preferred.
